Nature & Stillness in Sichuan's Tibetan Highlands

From Chengdu's low warm basin, the land rises. Over eight days it climbs past 4,000 metres - through snow-mirrored alpine valleys and the sacred boulder kingdom of Lianbaoyeze, across the Ruoergai plateau where the Yellow River draws its first slow curve through golden grass, and down finally into Jiuzhaigou's impossible colours and Huanglong's cascading golden pools. The altitude changes the air. The silence changes something else. This is not a sightseeing race. It is what happens when you stop moving fast enough for the landscape to catch up with you.
